April’s Member of the Month!
Once a month, our community votes to recognize a single member who embodies the spirit of CrossFit Center City. He/she is someone who has a good attitude, even on the toughest days, is always there to lend support to fellow athletes, and generally goes the extra mile to help build our community to become even more awesome. When it’s time to vote, we send a reminder email out to the entire crew, but if you ever see another member do something really cool for you or the gym in general, feel free to shoot us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org or leave a note in the box to tell us what happened!

April’s member of the month has an unfailingly positive attitude, an infectious energy that pushes everyone else in the gym to smiler bigger, learn more, and work harder. A member of our coaching apprentice program and nutrition team, she strives to learn as much as she can about movement and wellness, and to teach what she is learning to her friends, family, and our members. Her own gains over the last few years of CrossFit also don’t go unnoticed. As she will tell you herself, she has seen dramatic changes since she started here. We love her very dearly and are so happy to have her here…
FROM THE MEMBERS:
Oh yippieee! She’s going to be so stoked about this. Cait is the reason that I started doing crossfit. I saw how much she loved it and the changes she was making and I wanted to partake. Not only for the positive life changes, but also to spend more of my free time with her. Everyday Cait pushes me, literally, to get out of bed and cross the bridge to get to 7am class. At class she is a beast. She works her ass off each and every wod, learns all she can about nutrition, proper form and recovery techniques, talks to anyone and everyone who walks into the box, and is always the last person there cheering you on when you need to rep out ten more thrusters. Her energy, enthusiasm, comradery and outgoing attitude make her a most excellent member of the month. – Brian gawww
If for no other reason, Cait should be crowned member of the month for her unsurpassed burpee ability. It borders on freakish. In addition to being the burpee queen, she is also the consummate cheerleader. She is endlessly upbeat and positive even during the toughest workouts. Her enthusiasm for CrossFit and her fellow classmates is a big part of why working out at 7 a.m. is so much fun. Congrats, Cait!
When you workout with Cait, you can’t help but be inspired by her work ethic and positive attitude. Cait works hard and encourages harder. She’s always the loudest one cheering us all through WODs and is quick to share her knowledge and experience when people are struggling or need a little extra help. We’re lucky to have her at CFCC and as part of the 7am family!
She is one of the hardest working athletes at the gym. Her determination is definitely an inspiration to us all. She is someone I look for on the board to compare myself for certain events. I know that she has done a lot of PRing recently as well, but it is to be expected due to her hard work. Not only is she determined but offers a friendly phrase of motivation during the WODs/ Metcons. I know personally that a “Come on Gianni!” from her will help me push past the grinding reps. I sometime wonder how she even has the energy to talk because when I hear her cheering athletes on, I can’t even turn my head or nod for recognition because of pure exhaustion. Whether during the workout or hanging out in the lobby, Cait is always willing to shoot the breeze in the most genuine way possible.
Cait with a C. I can’t think of a more deserving member of the month. Cait is an amazing person and athlete. When Cait first came to CFCC, she was like so many n00bs feeling her way around the gym. But she put in the time and effort and is now an absolute monster who crushes every WOD in her path. I remember one particular workout where she dusted me on burpees and I was like damn – where did that come from. And as great as Cait is, she’s also one of the nicest and most humble people I know. A real sign of her character. So glad to have her at the gym and part of the 7am crowd – congrats, Cait!

CAIT! Cait is so deserving of this! As an athlete, she quietly pushes herself above and beyond always, ALWAYS striving for excellence . As a teammate, she is more then encouraging and makes you feel like a boss when lifting heavy things. She has a contagious spirit and no matter how awful the workout is, she faces it with confidence and a rather relaxed disposition. She also cheers extremely loud and really gets you pumped up. It’s awesome! Amazing lady, athlete, and teammate. Any workout with Cait is a good one! YAY! - Arianna
Cait is Awesome! Cant say I’ve had a chance to coach her that much however I do know her well enough to say that she is super determined, super motivating, and an awesome person and athlete. She also has a pretty great taste in music. - Zoder
The greatest thing about Cait Day is her willingness to learn. She is constantly asking questions regarding technique and the purposes behind training. I’ve seen tons of growth from Cait over these past two years and much of it is due to her amazing work ethic. She is extremely approachable and easy to coach which makes my job a lot of fun. Cait brings such positive energy to any class she come to, no matter what time of day it is. She has put a lot of time and effort into improving her form and technique, and it’s been great to see her hard work pay off. OMG. CAIT DAY IS THE BEST!! She brightens up my day the second I see her in the gym. I believe she has this effect on people. She has such awesome energy. Always positive and encouraging. She’s also a top burpee contender in the 3 min burpee test. Another reason why I believe she deserves this is because she dresses so well. :) -Basa
Cait Day is a magnificent person :) I’ve seen her progress so much since she first came here, and her improvements are marked by a unwavering curiosity and a thirst not only to learn, but to pass her knowledge along. Her enthusiasm is an inspiration to me, and I am so proud of her tireless advocacy for good food, health and wellness to everyone around her, even those outside of the CFCC family. Also, she is SO good at burpees while maintaining an incredible base of strength, and I still haven’t figured out how it’s physically possible that she can do them so fast. She might be part machine. Cait Day is the ideal veteran member. She is always giving her all day and day out as an athlete, and also never forgets to make an effort as a person to introduce herself to others and make them feel comfortable. Congrats Cait! -Chris
Cait Day has a long and wonderful history here at CFCC and besides being welcoming to everyone, a constant source of strength and inspiration to me, and CFCC legend in the making, she is also one of the most creative thinkers I know. Her bright mind has served as a catalyst for new things, attitudes, and features at CFCC on more than one occasion. Cait has an ability to shed new light for me on things that I have been seeing and doing in CrossFit for a long time, and for that, I am very grateful. For that reason alone she also deserves to be member of the month. She is a consistent attendee of the AM sessions, a tried and true teammate post-WOD no matter how early she finishes, and an excellent resource for new and experienced CrossFitters alike (she is an amazing teacher). But more than that, she is a member of a community that is constantly challenging others to think beyond themselves, and to consistently be improving and learning more about how the strength that CrossFit brings can grow and expand lives. -Erin
A FEW WORDS FROM CAIT:
OH YAY! This is really exciting – perhaps more exciting than it should be, rationally speaking. CFCC is my favorite ever so to hear that I am also one of it’s favorites makes me happy!
1. What do you when you’re not here? Your profession?
I am a program manager for Career Wardrobe, a non-profit that provides professional attire and job readiness training to women that are trying to get into the workforce. Working with women that are trying so hard to build their lives and become self-sufficient is empowering…and exhausting. But I love it – I love showing my ladies that people care about them and want them to succeed, even when it feels like the whole world is against them.
2. How did you find out about CF?
SHANA MAC. Shana hired me for my first “real job” and shortly after I started working for her, she started at CFCC. She would tell me how awesome it was and how much I would love it. I finally gave in and took Elements and haven’t stopped since.
3. What makes you come in and train on days when you don’t want to?
Accountability to my fellow 7 amers is a big driver. We are a tight crew and when one of us is not there on one of our normally scheduled days, we take notice. Knowing that there are 5-10 other people that are getting out of bed, trudging through a commute at 6:30a, to show up and put in an hour of work makes you think, “heck, if they’re doing it, I can too.”
That and a nice butt. The desire for a nice butt is a big motivator too.
4. What’s your favorite movement and/or metcon?
I really, really like snatching and OHS. They are really powerful movements and I feel bad ass when I do them. Also, burpees.
5. What’s one thing you would like to accomplish within CF in the next year?
I want to do Fran Rx’d sub 10.
6. Name something about yourself that’s a little known fact.
I lived and taught English in Japan for a year and half after college.
