Hear about Danny from Danny:
I was first introduced to CrossFit in my muscle training course during my junior year of college. I remember staying after every class period to pick my professors brain regarding different aspects of training. But it was the philosophy of specializing in not specializing that grabbed my attention. My idea of what a human being should strive to be like drastically changed as I continued studying CrossFit. I began implementing CrossFit movements into my daily routine. I was in love. Coming from a grappling/MMA background, the metcons within CrossFit transferred over perfectly and no matter how hard I tried there was always something to get better at.
My year long internship with CrossFit LionHeart began in the summer of 2011. It did not take long for me to realize that coaching athletes was the career path for me. Coaching athletes to achieve their goals is one of the most rewarding experience one can have. In August of 2012, I graduated with a B.S. in Kinesiology with a focus in Fitness Studies.
What is CrossFit?CrossFit forces us to confront and overcome our weaknesses. These weaknesses are not always physical. CrossFit allows people to strengthen the mind, body, and spirit.
Most memorable CrossFit moment:The first day that I walked into CrossFit LionHeart was the most memorable. The WOD was “Nicole,” and my kip was horrible which led to nothing but strict pull-ups. For a week after that, my arms were so stiff/sore that I could not raise a spoon to my mouth.
