New Things: Flexibility, Getting Strong in a Dungeon, and Olympic Lifting Camp

THIS SUNDAY, there will be a 10am YOGA (CROGA??? = CrossFit Yoga???) Session. Sign up on the calendar to attend.

Tigers totally dig mobility.

STRENGTH CLASSES OFFICIALLY BEGIN NEXT MONDAY!

Where: The Dungeon, aka the basement of CFCC
Why: Because in the grand scheme of things, strength wins.

OLYMPIC LIFTING CAMP OFFICIALLY BEGINS NEXT MONDAY!

Jim eyes up Chris's form.

Here’s what you need to know:

Who: For those that want to get better at the Olympic Lifts – and also want to increase strength in lifts that translate to the Olympic Lifts.
What: Olympic Lifting Camp with Jim Rutter, camp size is currently limited to 5 participants per month.
When: Beginning June 27, 2011. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday at 7-830pm and Saturdays at 12-130pm.
Where: The Dungeon, aka the basement of CFCC
Why: Because the Olympic Lifts are like gymnastics with a barbell and even though they are only one component of CrossFit they provide some of the best stuff CrossFit offers: better proprioception, better power, and even better body composition when combined with a healthy lifestyle.  The Olympic Lifts also provide a separate venue for CrossFitters to expand into if they decide competition maybe something they are interested in.

AS OF RIGHT NOW THERE IS ONLY ONE MORE SPOT LEFT FOR THE MONTH OF JULY.  If you would like to reserve for August, please let me know.

Required: flat shoes/Olympic Lifting shoes, a commitment to the program’s first priority of Olympic Lifting mastery, a log book with knowledge of as much lift information as you can provide, 6 months of experience at CrossFit Center City, $100 on top of regular membership fee for four weeks of camp.

There will be t-shirts…

I want to do Jay’s class, but I won’t be able to come every time because of my work schedule. I can probably only leave early one day per week and my Saturdays are also booked!

  7. Leila says:

I’d also like to take these classes once I’ve got a few more months experience, so another vote for keeping these going!
