At Crossfit Center City, we believe that nutrition is a major piece (if not the biggest piece) of the Health puzzle.
We believe that Real, Fresh, Whole Food is the foundation of a healthy diet.
We believe that Food should make you feel good – mind, body and soul – and is the optimum way to fuel your performance as an athlete.
We believe that everyone deserves to love the food they eat every day. And a diet based on fresh fruits and vegetables, unprocessed carbs to support your performance, meat from healthy animals, and plenty of fat is a surefire way to love what you eat and feel great along the way.
We believe that you should cook the majority of your food in your own home, that cooking really doesn’t have to be hard, and that LEARNING to cook, if you don’t know how, is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself.
We believe that eating this way doesn’t have to be cost-prohibitive and it doesn’t mean you’ll be chained to the kitchen.
We believe that your diet (especially if it’s of the Standard American variety) could be at the root of many of your health issues – and that you owe it to yourself to spend some time researching and self-experimenting to figure out how food makes you feel (PS: If you’re interested, we have lots of links right here.)
We believe that everyone should try removing gluten, dairy and added sugar from their diet for 30 days, just to see what happens. It may surprise you!
We believe that nothing will change unless YOU do. If you’re feeling run-down or your performance isn’t improving or your body composition isn’t where you want it to be, we challenge you to commit to nourishing yourself well. And we believe in the power of this community, knowing that if you ask people to hold you accountable (and suggest awesome recipes), they will! (PPS: A few times throughout the year, we commit to some goals as a group with some pretty incredible results. Read more about our Body Change Composition Challenge here.)
Your body works hard for you every moment of every day, and as Whole9 says, it’s the only body you get in this lifetime.
Love your body – nourish it well.
