September’s Member of the Month
Once a month, our community votes to recognize a single member who embodies the spirit of CrossFit Center City. He/she is someone who has a good attitude, even on the toughest days, is always there to lend support to fellow athletes, and generally goes the extra mile to help build our community to become even more awesome. When it’s time to vote, we send a reminder email out to the entire crew, but if you ever see another member do something really cool for you or the gym in general, feel free to shoot us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org to tell us what happened!
Our Member of the Month is always awarded a FREE month of membership to CFCC.
This month’s Member of the Month has been a staple of our Center City community for some time now. Greeting each challenge with a contagious passion and an un-relenting energy- this member has made steady gains as an athlete and as a pillar of motivation for those surrounding him. September’s Member of the Month is the much deserving…
What Mike’s Fellow Athletes Had to Say…
“Well I think this one goes without even saying. Mr. Mike Miele hands down should be MoM. Not only is he one of the most dedicated members at CFCC he also inspires other members to do better. He is in the early sessions, the afternoon sessions, PR’ing lifts for the Total coming up and with a smile on his face. He is not afraid to fail and learn from his mistakes and actively talking and listening to the coaches. Not to mention killing it the rowing WOD’s. He is without a doubt my nomination for MoM. Hands down. No pun intend.”
“Easy answer. Mike Miele. Great lifting partner and friend.”
“I’ve known Mike since he has started at CFCC and from day one he has brought a great attitude and work ethic. He comes in everyday to work hard but also makes sure to laugh and enjoy the class. I’ve seen Mike grow as an athlete and become a mentor to new members over the last year. He is another reason why CFCC (& the 7:30 class) are a great place to train.”
“Well deserved. You inspire me everyday.” -Joyce Miele :)
“I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this honor than Mike Miele. From his constant encouragement to his never-ending supply of Altoids, Mike is always there to help you through that tough lift or last burpee. Mike is an extremely hard worker and it has been awesome watching his constant improvements.”
“Miele is a great lifting partner who is always encouraging to everyone around him. He is quick to share knowledge and advice, and always comes prepared to do work. As an added bonus he has an app on his phone that tracks weight jumps. At 6am when saying my name is a challenge, that’s a huge win.”

What the Coaches Think…
“Mike Miele is absolutely deserving of member of the month! He is consistent and always SO encouraging in the middle of metcon hell. A pleasure to coach and to train with. Congrats, Miele!” -Rach
“Mike Miele, besides having some pretty sweet hair (heeeeey, Joyce!) is a perfect pick for Member of the Month. He’s thrived off of consistent attendance, participation in a few BCCCs that have made a world of difference (he’s straight-up jacked!), and has progressed as an athlete in conjunction with being a high-functioning Philadelphian, husband, and father. I am continually impressed by his humility and his willingness to go back to the beginning to learn how to do things better. In addition to all of this, Mike is also an awesome teammate; he is encouraging, friendly, and it is our privilege to call him one of our own at CFCC.” -Erin
“I’ve noticed how he is aware of his weaknesses and is always ready to attack and learn how to move better. Even though things may get very frustrating, he always has a great attitude, and is probably why he has improved so much (attitude is everything!) I also hope to be as active and strong as Miele when I am a dad.” -Basa
“Miele has such a good attitude. He comes in to every class ready to work and listen to feedback. Always encouraging others and always working on his weaknesses, he is a pleasure to coach.” -Record
“Mike Miele has shown vast improvement since joining. He’s becoming a stud in the Olympic lifts, and can be consider the definition of a “go hard” during the conditioning. Plus he has style points for that beautiful flow. Congrats!” -Heckman
“Mike has a great attitude and is always willing to learn and work hard. His progress has been steady and great to watch! Congratulations, Mike!” -Meg
“Mike is an awesome guy to have in class. Laid back, very coachable, and very supportive to other members. His consistency and attention to detail during the current BCCC is great, and he’s reaping the rewards. And hair.” -Greg
“I knew Miele was a good guy from the start. Is it his awesome flow of hair? No. Is it the unbelievable drive and determination that he displays day in and day out? No. Is it his willingness to learn and perfect his skills each and every class? No. Miele gained my respect when he yelled out during a workout, “Put on some of that Tupac! West coast!” In all honesty, Miele is a pleasure to coach. He has come so far since joining CFCC and I know that he will continue to get even better.” – Danny Bove
“I want to be like Mike Miele! Enough said.” -Chris
