Hello CFCCers,

Coach Heckman here to lay down some knowledge.  As most of you know the CrossFit Games Open is right around the corner, and that means it’s time to get this gym into gear.  

Here is what you need to know: 

Registration begins February 1st. EVERYONE is welcome to compete.  In fact, the more the merrier! For example, last year CF New England had 250 athletes participate in the Open.  They ranked 4th in the world, and won as an Affiliate at the Games.  Now I know what you’re all thinking, “But our gym doesn’t have 250 members to even meet that quota.”  Well then, it looks like everyone will just have to compete just to get close.  

After the Feb 1st Registration, Crossfit HQ will announce that week’s workout—and every subsequent week’s workout—on Wednesday at 5 p.m. PT or 8pm our time (starting February 22). Everyone will have until the following Sunday at 8 p.m. to complete that week’s workout and submit their score. Once you submit your workouts to the Games site, you’ll be able to find your rank, both worldwide and in your region. You get one point for each place (i.e. five points for 5th place) for each workout. Your overall score is the sum of all the workout scores, and lowest total points wins.  The individual athletes and teams that perform the best across the five Open workouts, in each of the 17 regions, will be invited to compete at the Regionals.  

Alright, let’s get STOKED!! And make sure you try to get in here everyday to tame those tigers.  I’ll be updating, and reminding you guys and gals about all things Open as it draws closer.  I’m certain that we are the ones to rep Philly in this Open.
